Tomorrow’s Designs Today
Referrals are always a sign that a company is doing something right. So, we were pleased to be referred by our customer Piedmont Metal Works in North Carolina for an architectural project in Virginia Beach for Glass Door Products. With nothing more than a hand sketch and a concept, we worked closely with Glass Door Products to come up with a design for their concept that included a 100% turnkey package. With the assistance of TKO Engineering Solutions we were able to ensure that all aspects of the design met wind load, snow load, seismic, and any other natural disaster. A final design that Glass Door Products was pleased with came to fruition.
In 2014, while working with Mitchell Machine Works on several equipment drafts for the turf industry, we were approached to draft new hydraulic banked running tracks for indoor running competitions. The tracks consisted of over 60,000 parts, all structural steel, and hydraulicallycontrolled to facilitate the incline in the turns. Building all of this in IronCAD was extremely easy since there was no concern of having to constrain parts and assemblies. Therefore, minor changes during the design process were, well, a breeze. As a matter of fact, the whole process itself and the finished drafts caught the attention of engineering.com. You can find that article here.
While working as a project manager for Shaw Stainless and Alloy, the company was awarded the project to develop and manufacture all of the decorative bollard covers lining the streets around the World Trade Center. With over 1,600 covers and 120 different designs to accomodate the slope of the sidewalks, the project was completed without a single design or manufacturing error.
Some of the most common products we assist with are platforms, conveyors and tanks. Our customers find that the quality and speed with which we are able to turn their projects around always meet sor surpasses their expectations. One of our favorite compliments is when a project is complete, is to have our customers say, “We were able to assemble this whole project and did not have to drill a single hole, did not even have one part out of place.”
